Jazz Ensemble I and II are extracurricular auditioned instrumental groups that meet outside of the school day. Usually the group meets Tuesdays after school (Jazz II) and evening (Jazz I) after the marching band season is completed at the end of October.

Both groups perform at concerts during the school year as well as competing at the KU Jazz festival in early March.

Standard instrumentation for Jazz Ensemble is Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Piano, Bass, Guitar, and Drums. Membership in a LHS music ensemble is recommended for this group.

Auditions for Jazz happen at the end of October.  We will use the State Jazz Audition Music found on the State KMEA website.
